faded from the winter.

i. Wolf Song -- Patrick Wolf

I know just where you've been boy
I've watched you by the stream
And don't be afraid of the dark
'Cause the darkness is simply a womb for the lonely
Swallow your pride and walk with us through the trees and hills
Oh yes! Your English eyes they are turning red

The moon, let it guide you
And I shall find you a home in our heartland, a heart in our homeland
Until the moon is down, until the moon is down

Sam & the wolves.

ii. Winter -- Tori Amos

Boys get discovered as winter melts
Flowers competing for the sun
Years go by and I'm still here waiting
Withering where some snowman was
Mirror, mirror, where's the crystal palace?
But I can only see myself
Skating around the truth who I am
But I know the ice is getting thin

Grace & the wolves.

iii. Snowstorm -- Wintersleep

And the hostess has been waiting
Through some time and rearranging
To keep her mind on something
Besides the lack of people coming
You pull up in hesitation
Is this the right location?
You can hear some music playing
Your hand knocks in obligation
She opens the door
She's been waiting
And nobody's been coming

Inviting the wolf in.

iv. Faded From The Winter -- Iron & Wine

Daddy's ghost behind you
Sleeping dog beside you
You're a poem of mystery
You're the prayer inside me

Spoken words like moonlight
You're the voice that I like

Needlework and seedlings
In the way you're walking
To me from the timbers
Faded from the winter

Grace & Sam and keeping out the cold.

v. Werewolf -- Cat Power

For the werewolf have sympathy
For the werewolf is somebody like you or me

Sam.

vi. Sundrenched World -- Joshua Radin

I can't get to bed
But I'm really tired
The things in my head
You used to admire
In your sundrenched world
It couldn't be worse
Don't bother asking
And here comes the nurse
While I'm trying to bask
In your sundrenched world

The golden woods, poetry in the dark.

vii. Last Chance To Evacuate The Planet Before It Is Recycled -- Porcupine Tree

If you fall asleep with me
You can dream and drowse
The minutes turn to hours
We could climb a tree or two
And watch the sun go down
Upon our sleepy town

After all the time I spent with you
Summer went away
And we just weren't the same
It's just you and me alone
Not grown ups, but not kids
You kiss me on the lips

No more warmth.

viii. Mahnung -- Helium Vola

Farewell, summer bliss!
The birdsong has disappeared,
as have the linden tree's leaves.
With the waning year
my eyes too are dimming.

German poetry for sad little German poetry quoting werewolf boys.

ix. Spring -- Wintersleep

After the snow went away
You stood by the fire
With an arm full of wood
Your charcoaled empire
And you smeared all the ashes
All over your body
Smothered in the remnant
Of a swollen memory
And you ran to the forest
And a cold sanctuary
The last breath of snowflake
Swallowed beneath

Sam gone.

x. Tiger Mountain Peasant Song -- First Aid Kit

Wanderers this morning came by
Where did they go
Graceful in the morning light?
To banner fair
To follow you softly in the cold mountain air

Through the forest
Down to your grave
Where the birds wait
And the tall grasses wave
They do not know you anymore

Grace in the wreckage.

xi. Blue Caravan -- Vienna Teng

Oh, my blue, blue caravan
Oh, the highway is my great wall
My true love is a man
Who never existed at all
Oh, he was a beautiful fiction
I invented to keep out the cold
But now my blue, blue caravan
I can feel my heart growing old
Oh, my blue, blue caravan
I can feel my heart growing old

Grace alone.

xii. Furr -- Blitzen Trapper

On the day that I turned 23
I was curled up underneath a dogwood tree
When suddenly a girl
Her skin the color of a pearl
She wandered aimlessly, but she didn't seem to see
She was listening for the angels just like me
So I stood and looked about
I brushed the leaves off of my snout
And then I heard my mother shouting through the trees
You should have seen that girl go shaky at the knees
So I took her by the arm
We settled down upon a farm
And raised our children up as gently as you please

Spring.
